I’m excited to announce that my first novel, a cyber thriller entitled Zero Day, is now available at all major book retailers!
Zero Day is a book in the style of Crichton and Clancy, weaving technical fact into the story. If you like the Sysinternals tools, the articles I post on this blog, are interested in computer security, or just enjoy a heart-stopping thriller, you’ll like Zero Day. You can read a synopsis and a sample chapter, as well as find pointers to on-line book sellers, at the Zero Day web site.
I think I will have to read this one, as my girlfriend puts is, “I am a sucker for sci-fi and techie movies/books”

Service Pack 1 is ready for download. Microsoft continues to invest in Visual Studio 2010 with Service Pack 1. In this release we addressed some of the most requested features and top voted issues from customers. Visual Studio 2010 SP1 delivers improvements to IntelliTrace, unit testing, and Silverlight profiling, as well as many other areas, resulting in a better experience and increased stability.

The PHP on Azure contest was announced by @Katriendg during a keynote speech together with @maartenballiauw and @dragonbe.
The PHP on Azure Contest is a coding competition run by the PHP Benelux User Group supported by Microsoft. Windows Azure is Microsoft’s Cloud platform with tools and support for PHP.
The contest is started now and a winner will be announced during the Dutch PHP Conference in Amsterdam during 19-21 May 2011.
Participation could win you a ticket, airfare and hotel to visit MIX2012 in Las Vegas, a Windows Phone 7 or other great prizes!

Traditioneel vindt de Microsoft “Professional Developers Conference” plaats in een warme locatie in Amerika. Dit jaar heeft Microsoft gekozen het evenement lokaal te organiseren op de Campus in Redmond USA.
Kijk hier vast hoe het er eventueeel aan toe zal gaan in gebouw 33, Countdown to PDC10 A Tour of Building 33.
Als gevolg van het lokaal organiseren is het aantal beschikbare bezoekers plaatsen meer dan beperkt is, wat wil zeggen dat het evenement al is uitverkocht!
Uiteraard willen wij wel dat zo veel mogelijk mensen op de hoogte worden gebracht van al het nieuws en dus bieden wij een Livestream op het Internet aan van de keynote, deze is te benaderen via http://www.microsoftpdc.com
Naast de livestream zullen er ook via deze website sessies beschikbaar komen van het evenement, bijna alsof je er zelf bij bent
